A Community Letter

5/11/2026

To Our Village Community,

There are no words that could ever fully express what this space — and all of you — have meant to me.

After a great deal of reflection and many difficult conversations, I’ve made the heartbreaking decision to close the doors of The Village Motherhood Company at the end of this month.

This dream was built from a very real desire: to create a place where mothers and families felt seen, supported, safe, and deeply connected. A place where you could walk in exhausted, overwhelmed, healing, celebrating, grieving, learning, or simply needing a cup of coffee and another adult to talk to — and know you belonged.

What I never could have anticipated was just how much this community would become a part of me.

Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of watching friendships form on our couches, babies take first steps in our studio, mothers find confidence in themselves again, families prepare for birth and postpartum, and people gather together through both joy and heartbreak. The Village became so much more than a business. It became a living, breathing community built by all of you.

And while this ending is incredibly painful, I also feel deeply grateful.

Grateful that this place existed at all.
Grateful for every family who trusted us.
Grateful for every instructor, provider, employee, and partner who poured their heart into this space.
Grateful for every hug, every story, every sleepy newborn, every toddler giggle, every tear shed in our grief groups, every yoga class, every conversation at the coffee bar, and every person who walked through our doors and helped make this dream real.

The Village touched far more lives than I ever imagined it would — including my own.

Over these next few weeks, we will continue holding classes and gathering together while we prepare to close. We will also be hosting a large retail fire sale beginning on 5/12/2026 as we work through our inventory. I would love for you to come by, say hello, share memories, and help us give this space a beautiful sendoff.

Though this chapter is ending, I truly believe the heart behind The Village will continue on in new ways. Communities like this don’t simply disappear — they live on in the people who experienced them.

From the bottom of my heart: thank you for allowing me to build this with you.

It has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

With love and endless gratitude,

Kalie Tenorio
